Doon Global School Discipline Policy

Discipline Policy

This public page is a guide to the topics families should expect a school discipline framework to cover. It is not a substitute for the current signed student handbook, boarding rules, admission terms or a case-specific written decision. Requirements and procedures can change by session, age group and programme.

Obtain the Current Written Rules

Before admission, ask the school for the version of the code of conduct that will apply to the student. Check its issue date and obtain any separate rules for transport, devices, examinations, activities and boarding. Parents should also confirm which communication channel is currently official.

Conduct and Respect

A current code should explain expectations for respectful behaviour, punctuality, academic integrity, language, care of property, digital conduct and compliance with reasonable safety instructions. Ask how the rules apply in classrooms, on transport, during events, online and in residential areas.

Uniform, Attendance and Leave

Uniform specifications, grooming guidance, attendance requirements and leave procedures should be confirmed from the current handbook. Families should not rely on old website copy for purchase instructions, minimum attendance, medical documentation, late arrival or early-departure rules.

How Concerns Are Handled

Ask for a clear explanation of how an incident is recorded, who hears the student's account, how parents are notified, which supportive or disciplinary responses may be considered, and whether a review or appeal route exists. The response should take account of the circumstances, applicable school rules and the student's age rather than being inferred from a generic list online.

Bullying, Harassment and Safeguarding

Students and parents should know how to report bullying, harassment, discrimination, retaliation or an immediate safety concern. Confirm the responsible staff contact, the emergency route, how information is shared on a need-to-know basis and what protection is available while a concern is reviewed. Confidentiality cannot be absolute where safety, legal reporting or fair process requires disclosure.
