Residence usually works well when

The child already handles some independence and enjoys other children's company.
A daily commute is eating hours that should go to study, sport or sleep.
A parent is posted outside Uttarakhand, or the family moves often, and the child needs one school and one syllabus for several years.
Parent and child have talked it through and reach the same answer without persuasion.

Wait, or choose a day place, when

The move is being driven by a difficult patch at home. A change of address rarely settles what has not been settled.
The hope is that residence will correct behaviour the family has not managed to address. A school shares that work; it cannot take it over.
Only one of parent and child is convinced, and the other is being talked round.
The fee would stretch the household to the point where a mid-year change becomes likely. Children carry the cost of that.

Because the school teaches from Nursery upwards, families in and around Dehradun have a middle path: join as a day scholar and move into residence later. The timetable currently published by the school lists Monday to Saturday, 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM in summer and 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM in winter. Confirm the current session timetable, residential prep supervision and subject-support arrangements.

The one-time charge covers registration of ₹ 5,000, admission of ₹ 45,000 and a refundable security deposit of ₹ 20,000. Admission then follows six steps: inquiry, document submission, an entrance assessment for Grade I and above, an interaction with the Principal, fee payment and orientation. Keep these ready:
