Grades IX-XII at Doon Global School, Dehradun

Bade sapne. Mazboot taiyaari.

Imagine your teenager facing a difficult question, testing an idea and explaining a better answer after feedback. Playmakers helps turn “Can I handle this?” into “I know my next step”, with academic challenge, recovery and support together.

First, a stronger classroom

For Every Student

Playmakers is how every Grade IX section is taught, through to XII, and the block excludes nobody. Inside it, an optional flagship cohort adds depth: a lighthouse, not a wall.

Depth, not a race ahead

Reasoning in core subjects, fortnightly investigations and maths labs in IX-X, explain-and-retry feedback and exam-style application. Better use of existing periods.

A voice and a wider horizon

At least 2 of 10-12 activities for each learner. An uncommon-careers series offers group research, rehearsal and supported sharing; quieter contribution routes count.

Board preparation stays protected

In X and XII, the examination calendar takes priority, with no new large projects after October.

Our learning way

Think Deeply, Apply, Reflect, Lead

The lesson cycle runs in every core subject, inside the existing timetable: substitutions, never extra periods.

Activities and Uncommon Careers

Ten to twelve activities, at least two each

The planned menu, adapted to the school calendar: inter-house debate · MUN and youth parliament · science exhibition · coding hackathon · quiz league · dramatics and the annual production · sports tournaments · community service (NSS and NCC) · entrepreneurship day · art and design fest · a Doon-valley trek or field expedition · the school magazine and newsroom. Every student takes part in at least two, tracked by name.

The uncommon-careers series

Groups of two or three students research and present one uncommon career, such as marine engineering, data science, genomics, actuarial science, air-traffic control, food technology, forensic science or remote sensing: one presentation a month on the class calendar, with a rehearsal slot first. The content is graded; stage confidence is coached but never scored.
