Roles and Responsibilities of PTA Members

Each one of us has to ensure the smooth functioning of the PTA, work together to support the school, enhance the student experience, and address the concerns of the parent-teacher community. Let’s discuss our role and duties throughout the year.

President (Head of PTA)

  • Leader and Coordinator: Acts as the head of the PTA, leading meetings, setting the agenda, and coordinating all PTA activities.
  • Decision Maker: Facilitates decision-making in the PTA, ensuring that all members’ voices are heard and decisions are made through consensus or voting.
  •  Supervision: Oversees the various committees and ensures that they are functioning efficiently.
  •  Conflict Resolution: Mediates any conflicts or issues that arise within the PTA or between parents and the school.

Vice President

PTA Secretary

  • School Vice Principal will be PTA Secretary, responsible for keeping records, minutes, and handling communication.
    – Record Keeping: Maintains accurate records of PTA meetings, including taking minutes, tracking attendance, and keeping a record of decisions made.
    – Meeting Agenda Preparation: Works with the President to prepare the agenda for each PTA meeting and ensures it is circulated among members in advance.
      – Documentation: Keeps track of important PTA documents, correspondence, and reports. Ensures that all records are well-organized and easily accessible.
      – Communication: Ensures that communication with members is clear, sending out notices, agendas, and follow-up information after meetings.
